Sincere Thanks

On behalf of The Guilford Foundation (TGF), we extend our heartfelt appreciation to First Selectman Matt Hoey and the entire Guilford Board of Selectmen for their exceptional vision and generosity in directing $1 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) federal funding to our vital nonprofit community that continues to recover from the impact of COVID-19.

TGF was entrusted with managing the allocation process and overseeing the disbursement of the $1 million to 34 nonprofits, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $75,000. This funding marks a significant milestone for our community, representing a crucial step toward fortifying our local nonprofit organizations.

A special acknowledgment is due to the dedicated members of the ARPA review committee for their hard work and commitment throughout the allocation process. Their meticulous efforts have ensured that the funds are directed where they are most needed, reinforcing the community's trust in the responsible distribution of resources.

The committee, consisting of Guilford residents Sarah Blanton, Pamela Ellman, Ashley Fernandez, Christine Fappiano, Mary Jo Kestner, George Krivda (ARPA Expert), Stephanie Little Brown, James Mancini, Judith Meyers, Rob McCoole, Alex Sulpasso (ARPA Committee Chair), Nolan Stankewich (Youth Representative), and Linda Weber (TGF Board Chair), played a crucial role in shaping the positive impact of this initiative.

In addition to the committee's dedication, we are deeply moved by the gratitude and unwavering commitment to community service exhibited by the ARPA recipients. Their understanding of the significance of this milestone funding opportunity is evident through their efforts to amplify this positive news via social media, newsletters, websites, and recognition events.

Once again, our sincere thanks go to the Guilford Board of Selectmen, Matt Hoey, the nonprofits, and the ARPA review committee for their collective commitment to building a stronger and more resilient community.
