Thank you, Town of Madison, for scaling back on all the previously unflattering festive lighting strung up in downtown Madison over the past several years.
The current warm white lighting looks very pretty, classic, and inviting for a shoreline Connecticut town.
When they mixed cool, bright white lighting with warm, soft white lighting in recent years, it looked unsynchronized and haphazard. It was also a bit of an eyesore and did not seem well thought out.
If you visit any of the classic towns along the shoreline from Greenwich to Mystic, there is a town ordinance allowing only classic, warm, festive lighting on downtown village streets.
