11/01/2023 08:00 AMI am writing today in support of Seth Klaskin for the Madison Board of Education (BOE). Seth currently leads as chair of our BOE and has served on the BOE for 14 years. I encourage readers to join me in supporting his reelection.
As a parent and taxpayer and as a former PTO and Parents Representative Council leader, I have always cared and followed our BOE, so I am very familiar with Seth’s actions and performance during his tenure. Based on Seth’s integrity, action, and results, I always believed he was a tremendous asset to the board.
Moreover, since joining the board myself, I have now witnessed first-hand how Seth always advocates passionately for the holistic development and well-being of all our students while maintaining top academic success. During recent challenging times for all BOEs, our board has moved forward. We have had many successes as a direct result of Seth’s nonpartisan, student-first approach and the congeniality that Seth has promoted as chair. In the post-COVID era, students across the nation are suffering from a mental health crisis. Seth has led a movement to prioritize Social Emotional Learning and additional mental health professionals. In a time of rampant gun violence, Seth supported security spending through expansion of our successful School Resource Officer program.
I simply cannot express in a few paragraphs the honor it is to work beside Seth and how grateful I am for his leadership as our current Chairman of the Board of Education. Seth’s passion, dedication, experience, and tireless efforts on behalf of our schools are remarkable, and our board, schools, students, and staff have benefited tremendously as a result. Having worked with Seth, I confidently attest to Seth’s solid experience, leadership, aptitude, and integrity to continue to serve our community and our students with distinction.
