Delivers for You

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, Old Saybrook voters will go to the polls to decide who will represent them on the Board of Finance, Board of Education, Zoning, Planning, Zoning Board of Appeals, Parks and Recreation, Assessment Appeals, and Police Commission. All other positions in town, including all positions on the Board of Selectmen, are unopposed. To be able to live in Old Saybrook is highly desirable, now more than ever.

The town has been on a steady upward trajectory for the last 12 years, now to the point where even the New York Times is recognizing our buzzy downtown, reasonable taxes, and great recreational opportunities. And the facts are that your local Republicans, by having control over all but one commission, have delivered an exceptional product to the townspeople. We do not identify with state or national politics but instead look to do the work of the town. That’s what local government is, and that is what your local Republicans have done for several decades.

We have steered common sense policies through all our boards and commissions, keeping out-of-the-mainstream, overly “progressive” policies from affecting our schools or local regulations. Old Saybrook Republicans have been forward thinking on land use policies for affordable and attainable housing, on financial and “pocketbook” issues affecting residents and businesses, and on resiliency efforts along our shoreline, all while fully funding and supporting our students, our future leaders in the school system. We are a positive party that brings a positive message along with a transparent and responsive government.

That is what Old Saybrook is voting for on Nov. 7, and that is why I ask you to continue to support the government that delivers for you.
