Will Always Make Decisions That Benefit the Community

My name is Eric Dussault, and I am running for the Old Saybrook Board of Finance (BOF). I was unanimously appointed to the Board by the Board of Selectmen in 2022.

I am a US Coast Guard Veteran but presently work as the Director of Port Operations for American Cruise Lines, the largest domestic cruise line in the country. I and my family have been residents of Old Saybrook since 2007. When not at work or at a board (BOF, Old Saybrook Little League, and Basketball Club) meeting, you’ll find me on some sports field coaching youth sports.

I believe that public service on a board is a wonderful way to help Old Saybrook grow and have a say in how it’s done. Further, it’s important that our boards and commissions reflect the town’s electorate, which includes many young families. Therefore, we must ensure that the town continues to invest in the infrastructure that will help draw more young families to town, and that starts with ensuring the long-term financial stability of Old Saybrook. Parks and Recreation, Board of Education facilities/ programs, and ensuring our Main Street is pedestrian and cyclist-friendly, which includes crosswalk safety, are important priorities. These meaningful priorities are what make a town become a community.

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, I ask for your support of my Board of Finance candidacy not because of a political party but because I will always make decisions that benefit the community.
