Supports a Bright Financial Future

Two years ago, Deborah Conklin was elected town treasurer. She has immersed herself in that role, attended most Board of Finance meetings for the past two years, and has worked closely with the town finance department. She supports the Town’s conservative financial agenda and bright financial future. She is running for re-election this year, and I wanted to share a bit more about her.

She was born in Branford. While living in Rochester, New York, in 1984, she was given the opportunity to live anywhere on the East Coast. She chose Branford. You may know her as a runner, cyclist, and weightlifter. She has run 15 full marathons. Do you know the tenacity and hard work that entails? Deborah spent 16 years as a volunteer coach with Branford Girls Softball. Only one year did she have a family member on the team. Deborah is a 30-year volunteer for Special Olympics Connecticut and has officiated events at local, state, national, and international levels. She is a USA Track and Field master’s level official. She currently sits on the Branford Board of Recreation and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Branford Community Foundation. On Mondays, you will find her delivering meals to the homebound for the Community Dining Room. All this while working full-time for a large financial institution.

I learned years ago that if you want something done and done well, ask a busy person to do it. She is busy. Deborah lives to serve. She wants Branford to continue to be a great town with a great future so her five grandnieces and nephews will have the Branford she knows and loves to enjoy for their entire lives. Yes, I am biased. Please give Deborah Conklin your vote for town treasurer on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
