Integrity, Ethics, and a Genuine

It is a distinct honor to support the candidacy of Democrat George Chang for the Board of Finance (BOF) in Old Saybrook. As a current member of the Board of Education (BOE), I’ve had the privilege to have George as a colleague for the past 16 years, where he has been an influential member, making significant contributions to our district and positively impacting the social and academic success of all students.

With his exceptional analytical skills and keen attention to accuracy and detail, George would be an asset to the BOF, bringing a fresh perspective and responsible approach to financial accountability. George is a visionary leader; he carefully listens and fully considers all options before making critical decisions that impact the future of our town.

While on the BOE, George chaired the Budget and Fiscal Committee, where he developed extensive knowledge of the budget process, from development to execution. His experience includes reviewing and overseeing proposed multimillion-dollar budgets and working closely with the administration to find creative ways to control costs. These efforts have produced budgets that have been transparent and fiscally responsible, resulting in overwhelming support at town referendums.

Moving Saybrook forward in today’s economic climate requires skilled research capabilities focused on identifying our priorities and long-term planning while balancing the needs of constituents. George will provide the sound leadership needed to wisely allocate taxpayer dollars.

On a personal note, George’s character is impeccable. He has integrity, ethics, and a genuine care for our town and its future. His fiscal experience will be quite beneficial to the BOF. He is committed and looks forward to continuing his service to our community.
