Proud to Have Served

My fellow residents and taxpayers, it is almost the end of the campaign season, and here are some final comments. You have heard many statements from my opposing party about what things they will do if given the majority on the Town Council. Let me say this: most of the items they refer to are already being addressed by the present council.

There have been multiple workshops this past year on the following items: the use of the Pierson School, the responsible spending of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to enhance our town and quality of life, the revitalization of the downtown area and helping the businesses, establish policy concerning responsible use of the undesignated surplus fund, and most recently, concerns of the library.

I have attended all those workshops as well as every Town Council meeting, voting on issues on budget matters, approval of several grants to improve the town's infrastructure, and other issues of concern. So I say again, the Town Council is already addressing all those claims by others.

Finally, let me say that I have lived in this town for 57 years and have loved every minute of it. It is the people who make this town great, and I love all of you, whether young or old, unaffiliated, Green party, Democrat, or Republican. I am proud to have served you for 35 years, and hopefully, with your support, I can continue my service.
