A Valuable Addition to the Team

Since the beginning of the municipal campaign season, I have been amazed that literally everyone I know also knows Bob Donahue, candidate for the Madison Board of Finance. And their reaction when I mention him is invariably, “Bob Donahue? Really good guy!”

I shouldn’t be surprised, given that Bob has been a financial professional serving our area for more than 20 years. His deep civic involvement and volunteer work in Madison and along the Shoreline spans a wide variety of business, arts, and faith-based organizations. He has used his training and experience to act as treasurer for numerous non-profit groups and help with the myriad filing, budget, and fundraising tasks they face. Bob really has his finger on the pulse of our community, critical to anyone involved in making important decisions for our town.

Prior to moving to Madison, Bob was a member of the Board of Finance in Durham for six years. Even though his political party was in the minority, the members elected him chair. The finances of a rural/town/suburban area such as Durham are challenging, but Bob deftly encouraged bipartisan collaboration to see the complex financial process through.

Over the past four years, the Madison Board of Selectmen and Board of Finance have done a remarkable job of improving public services and investing in critical infrastructure while keeping taxes in check. Bob’s financial background in banking and municipal finance and years of hard work improving our community will make him a valuable addition to the team. That’s why I encourage Madison voters to elect Bob Donahue to the Board of Finance.
