A Brilliant Decision

My wife and I have moved many times for my work and lived across the country, but we have been visiting family in Madison for almost 40 years. When I decided to retire, we made the decision to purchase a home here and landed on a 100-year-old home close to the town center. We spent the last few years in a whirlwind of restoration and exploring the regional shops for art and antique items, which helped convert that house into our home. And we could not be more pleased with our decision to join the Madison community.

During our first couple of years here, we were struck by the “inside view” of a community that actively solicits its residents’ input and listens to all sides and views. A community that provides beautiful parks to enjoy the wonders of nature, active clubs that engage interaction between neighbors with common passions, honors veterans with patriotic parades and public recognition and provides a wealth of open access activities on the green (concerts, farmers markets, antique shopping, auto shows, etc.). In other words, a New England town that we should all be proud of.

And none of this happens by chance. My thanks to Peggy Lyons, the Board of Selectmen, the town employees, and the active/engaged community that collectively make this such a wonderful place to live. You have helped to make my decision to become a resident of Madison a brilliant decision.
