Keeping Chester Strong, Sustainable

It’s my sincere honor to be a candidate for first selectwoman of Chester. I have lived in Chester for over 19 years and met my husband Ken here, married now for 16 years. I deeply care for and love our town.

Those of us who live here — and visitors alike— enjoy Chester’s natural and historical resources, architectural beauty, arts, culture, restaurants, and shops. I intend to protect our residents and existing assets.

I’ve heard from many residents that government leaders need to be more communicative and informative. As your first selectwoman, I will be committed to communicating, collaborating, and responding timely. I will listen closely to all — everyone’s voice matters, whether as a fourth-generation farmer or a newly relocated family from out of town. As Chester’s Sustainability Team lead, I will continue to work on sustainability actions and proactive planning to ensure Chester’s future. We will continue to investigate waste management solutions together and with surrounding communities to help save money while protecting the environment. I’ll work hard for our merchants — as a former business owner and current member of the Chester Economic Development Commission, and by attending our merchants’ meetings, I know first-hand how our small and large businesses need support. I’ll fight for sensible public safety and health — as a former nurse manager and public health nurse who administered vaccines during the pandemic, I know the value of community health and wellness programs. And as a taxpayer, I will work for efficiencies to hold the line on tax increases while continuing to care for our town services and infrastructure. And I will be honest with you: I’ll never avoid a tough situation or ignore a good suggestion. Will you join me in keeping Chester strong, sustainable, and moving into a vibrant future?
