Loud Music

My house is at the end of Terhune Avenue, across the Branford River from the Stony Creek Brewery (SCB). Perhaps it's because sound travels so well across water, but even with the windows all closed and the air conditioners on, we could hear the loud music from the concert at the brewery on July 5. I don't own a decibel meter, but when I touched my hand to the windows, I could feel the windows vibrating. I felt sorry for all the neighbors who live in the area of the booming music! I don't wish any ill to the owners of the brewery; at most times, they are good neighbors.

However, the town certainly didn't approve the SCB being a concert venue with the type of amplified music that was played on that evening — a weeknight, I should add! I implore the town to require a reduced limit on any sound produced by the brewery at any time. Or perhaps the town would rather substantially reduce the property taxes for those residents both north and south of the brewery.
