Having lived in Zambia in the 1960s, I was immediately drawn to the recent headline "Lions Club Delivers Equipment to Zambian Clinic" (Feb. 16). Thanks to Dick Borner's initiative and the support of countless anonymous donors, we have helped two Zambian eye clinics bring sight to previously visually challenged Zambians in need. Having already put my obsolete eyeglasses in the Lions "drop box" at Act II Thrift Shop, I feel even better now because I've helped make a difference with so many of my Madison neighbors in a country that is very special to me. Thank you.
