Asking For Your Vote

I am Colin Heffernan and I am asking for your vote on Tuesday, Nov. 8. I am running to represent the 23rd District which encompasses Lyme, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, and Westbrook.

Our shoreline has always filled me with a sense of community that far exceeds anything I've experienced elsewhere. After graduating law school in 2008, I moved back permanently to put down roots. Since then, I've served on the Old Saybrook Zoning Commission and chaired our Aquifer Protection Agency and Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission. I’m an attorney in Old Saybrook, helping people and businesses reach their goals and navigate through some of their toughest times. I’ve had the pleasure of raising my children here, standing shoulder to shoulder with this community.

Now, I want to do more. I want to take the skills I've honed as an attorney, volunteer, and father and put them to work for the people of the 23rd District. That is why I’m humbly asking for your vote.

Our district is an amazing place, but we face serious challenges that we need to tackle head on. Washington politics have gotten more extreme and the rights we’ve held for decades are quickly eroding at the federal level. Climate change is real and will affect us more as every year passes. Energy and housing costs continue to rise, making it harder for people to call this amazing place home. In these trying times, your representation in Hartford is more important than ever. As your representative, I’ll work everyday to identify solutions and to do the greatest good.

I know how special this area is and I promise to always do what is right for our community and the people who call it home. It would be an honor to represent you, and I ask for your vote.
