As a co-founder of the Guilford Voices for Unity and Equity (VUE), I am proud to support Christine Cohen and Moira Rader as champions of our public schools.

Guilford VUE is committed to protecting and advancing social justice and equity initiatives in our school and community. In our public schools specifically, we not only trust our teachers, we also trust in the power of our schools to be welcoming spaces that continue to evolve in support of our students’ expanding interests and needs. Our students deserve continued access to an education that goes beyond the mastery of skills and encourages critical thinkers who can apply these skills to relevant and engaging issues, contexts, and problems.

Christine Cohen and Moira Rader are the candidates committed to and capable of protecting and advancing this vision for our schools.

Both Christine Cohen and Moira Rader have demonstrated their commitment to the Guilford Public Schools (GPS) through their years of service on our Board of Education. They have a record of making decisions that represent our community’s clear stance on affirming and inclusive schools and demonstrate respect for the expertise of GPS educators. Further, in recent statements, they have individually reiterated their support of social justice and equity initiatives in our schools.

Last November, Guilford residents made a strong declaration in favor of our students’ right to an inclusive education on a local level. Voting for Christine Cohen and Moira Rader this November ensures that the interests of our students will be protected and advanced at the state level as well. Please join me and Guilford VUE on Tuesday, Nov. 8 by voting for these two women.
