Earned Our Trust

There have been many letters over recent weeks speaking about Moira Rader’s candidacy as state representative and her leadership ability with the Guilford Board of Education and many diverse volunteer and community efforts.

In 2012, my firm hired Moira’s husband, Peter, for an architect position and their family moved to Guilford. I have been a huge fan of the Rader family since they relocated to our town, and now, 10 years later, I had no idea how much of a positive impact Moira and her family would have on Guilford.

I did not really get to know Moira until she ran for the Board of Education in 2017. I was immediately impressed with how rapidly she understood our educational budget and then became a trusted voice with her colleagues and community alike. Moira has not backed down from controversial issues, especially her support of equity and inclusion in our schools. As an elected official, there can be incredible pressure to stay true to your beliefs, yet act in the best interests of your constituents. Moira has fought for our children, and this new state representative role she seeks will allow her to be a greater advocate for all Guilford residents.

Whether you read letters regarding her support of combating climate change and building coastal resiliency; diversity, equality, and inclusion efforts in our schools, affordable healthcare, or protecting women’s reproductive rights, Moira will fight for every Guilford resident and make decisions based on what her constituents believe are in their best interest.

With confidence and admiration, I encourage Guilford voters to elect Moira Rader as our next 98th District State Representative. She has worked hundreds of hours to earn our trust and will serve us beyond our expectations.
