Looks Out for Us

As retirees, we are very concerned with the state of our nation’s economy. Our retirement funds have dwindled as a result of the current bear market and inflation is weakening the value of the money we worked hard for over the years. It is no surprise to anyone that Connecticut is an expensive state to live, work, raise a family, and retire, so the current economic outlook is especially concerning.

The only candidate in the race for State Representative who understands the market and finance is our State Rep., Devin Carney. Devin works in finance and follows the market daily. He understands tax and tax law, which is the type of institutional knowledge we need in Hartford. He introduced – and passed — new legislation to reduce state taxes on Individual Retirement Accounts. He caught that these accounts were forgotten when the legislature passed reduced taxes on pensions and social security – and he acted.

He has served on the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee for six years – with four as Ranking Member of the Transportation Bonding Subcommittee. All of this knowledge is vital and anyone concerned about the future of their savings should support Devin. He has proven that he looks out for us, understands economics and taxes, and should be re-elected on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
