A Pragmatic, Practical Leader

I’m writing to ask readers to support Norm Needleman for State Senate. Norm has served the residents of the 33rd Senate District for the last four years. During that time, Norm has worked hard for our community in a bipartisan manner. As a member of our Old Saybrook Board of Selectman, I know that Norm is regularly in communication with our first selectman.

He is a pragmatic, practical leader that works across party lines to get things done for our town. Just one example was this summer, when Norm reached out to the town to identify a project for inclusion on the state bond commission agenda. Norm secured $769,500 in state bond funds in the form of a grant to fund the completion of sidewalks running from the Westbrook Town line to the intersection of Route 1 and Spencer Plains Road. These improvements will help make it easier and safer for residents to walk and bike to Big Y and Kohls and the future development slated for the old Benny’s site.

As the chair of the Energy and Technology Committee of the Connecticut General Assembly, Norm has fought to hold Eversource accountable for their staffing practices and storm preparations and response, even winning payouts for customers when their power is out for a prolonged period of time.

Finally, I have known Norm for 18 years — before he was elected to the Senate or serving as first selectman. He is a good, dedicated business leader, caring father and partner, and just a good man that cares about his employees and friends. Please support Norm Needleman on Election Day
