It Takes a Village

As I was driving down Leetes Island Road last week, I was struck by a large tree that closed off both lanes of the road. The tree destroyed my car but I escaped with few injuries. I want to thank all the friends and neighbors who stopped their cars and came from their homes. They offered sympathy, bandages, and water. They braved the glass and sharp objects in my car to rescue my purse and phone. They drove to my home to assure my husband that I was safe. Thank you also to the emergency personnel for their rapid response and professionalism.

It takes a village, and I was blessed that day.
