I write to ask that you recall the two big storms of August 2020 that each knocked out electric power for many days. I live in The Tower, the six-story apartment building near the Branford Post Office, and our elevator died with the lights and refrigerators. We didn't start out as an "over 55" building, but our 49 apartments are more than half filled with people over 65 — including quite a few who moved in as younger people when the building was new in the 1990s.

Two of my fourth-floor neighbors during those storms were particularly frail and couldn't think of going up five flights of stairs with food, water, or medical supplies for days on end. I contacted the offices of our first selectman and our state senator, but nothing happened as a result of those efforts.

It was Robin Comey who responded both times with genuine concern, who drove through our neighborhood to check things out, and who got action that prioritized the return of electricity within one day of my initial contact each time.

Her response was so compassionate and so successful, that I will always vote for Robin every chance I get, for any office. I hope you will do the same. Others may promise, but I don't know anybody seeking our votes who delivers half as well as Robin Comey.
