Will Actively Fight

Moira Rader is the kind of engaged and communicative leader that Guilford and Branford voters rightfully expect. The next step for registered Democrats is to vote on Tuesday, Aug. 9 to select Moira as the official Democratic candidate for 98th Legislative District, running for election in November. Please mark your calendars! Remember that absentee ballots are available for those who can’t make it to the polls.

Moira has handled complex and contentious political situations with grace and determination. She has been battle-tested as a local elected official, helping to shepherd the Guilford Public Schools through the challenges of COVID, followed by ongoing assaults on the system by a small but vocal minority of residents intent on damaging the schools. The well-being and educational achievement of our students is always front and center for Moira. We can expect the same when Moira goes to Hartford and works for Connecticut, with an emphasis on Guilford and Branford.

Understanding what is and isn’t taught in our schools and how parents already have tremendous opportunities for engagement is an issue that is not going away. Moira will bring the voice of truth and reason to the House chamber even as right-wing factions spread mistruths and attack our public education systems.

Women in Connecticut are fortunate to be protected against the worst assaults on their reproductive health, unlike in other states. Moira will not simply endorse the status quo. She will actively fight to ensure those rights are never eroded.

The choice to vote for Moira in the Tuesday, Aug. 9 primary was an easy one. I look forward to doing it again in November. It’s common sense.
