An Extensive Public Record

There have been many letters endorsing Moira Radar as the best Democratic candidate for Sean Scanlan’s seat. Though she doesn’t have a website, she does have an extensive public record which Guilford residents should research.

For instance, during the Guilford Board of Education (BOE) workshop meeting on Aug. 26, 2021 at the 2:15:51 mark, Moira advocated that the Board adopt their “Statement on Addressing Equity and Social Justice (ESJI) in Guilford Public Schools” saying, “It’s such important work that if we don’t set the record straight … where the misinformation is … it’s a missed opportunity.” Remember, this Statement proclaimed, “Institutional Racism is part of American history and educators must explicitly address this reality and create a culture that helps eradicate it moving forward.” At the 1:37 mark of this meeting, Moira expressed her concern about pronouns saying, “I would be careful about pronouns that we use especially nowadays. I just want to be thoughtful that we not use pronouns like his or her.”

During the Jan. 25, 2021 BOE meeting at the 58-minute mark, Moira lamented that parents have been the only obstacle in the acceptance of their ESJI saying, “I think our student body is receptive to this and excited about this. I think our teaching community is receptive and excited about this. The one component I think we see the most pushback or work to do is with the parent community… I think about our students going home to a household where they hear the polar opposite… How do we work on that component, you know once they leave our school building and go back to their households? How do we address that, and how do we move this work forward?” Hmmm, could Moira be against parental rights?
