Priorities That Will Serve Our Community Well

I am writing to express my strong support of Moira Rader for State Representative of the 98th District. I have worked closely with Moira for almost five years on the Board of Education and experienced her extraordinary attention, dedication, and thoughtful approach to this responsibility. I have no doubt that she will bring this same approach to the State House of Representatives.

Moira is currently vice chair of the Board, preceded by her role as secretary; she has served on the Operations Committee, the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Committee, and is the former chair of the Policy Committee. Moira seeks leadership positions and has carried out her multiple Board of Education roles with integrity. She is thorough in her research and understanding of issues that come before the Board and provides carefully considered proposals and solutions. She has participated in shaping five consecutive education budgets, and prioritizes fiscal responsibility. Moira has closely monitored state legislative activity, providing valuable updates on education issues that could impact our district.

Moira’s engagement with the public, and responsiveness to Guilford citizens, has been exemplary. She has communicated support for high-quality education, environmental protection, affordable health care, improvement in infrastructure, and economic development. As a Board of Education member, she continues to advocate for the social and emotional health of our students, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in our schools. These are priorities that will serve our community well.

I urge my fellow Guilford citizens to join me in voting for Moira Rader for State Representative, both in the Democratic primary on Tuesday, Aug. 9 and again in the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
