Champion for Change

Commitment. Compassion. Community. These words come to mind when I think of Moira Rader and her passion for public service. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Moira during her tenure on the Guilford Board of Education. Moira works selflessly to uphold the gold standard of education that Guilford families demand. It’s exciting to consider her making an even greater impact in our community and state.

I met Moira when we served together on an interview panel for a school administrator position. I observed Moira synthesize and articulate her observations throughout the interview process. What I appreciated most was a conversation with Moira about our experiences as Guilford parents. When I shared how important it is to raise my children in a community where equity and social justice were priorities, she listened with genuine interest, care, and concern. Moira assured me that she shared these same desires and was committed to ensuring all Guilford Public School children are seen and know they belong.

True to her word, I have watched Moira uphold the commitment she voiced to me. Month after month, Moira has patiently addressed concerns from parents who were both for and against social justice and equity initiatives. She listened to every voice, every time, and responded with kindness and truth. Not once did she waiver in her beliefs that everyone deserves to be treated fairly.

Based on my experience, Moira has proven she knows how to listen to all of her constituents and act in the best interests of the community. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly support Moira’s candidacy and continued service to Guilford and the 98th District, in the Aug. 9 primary for State Representative. Her experiences as a parent, advocate, and public servant make her the champion for change we all need right now.
