See You in September

I’d like to take this opportunity to recognize all those who volunteered at our recent book sale.

On June 10 and 11, the Scranton Library Friends (SLF) held its first sale of like-new books for this summer season. We were excited to return to an indoor sale following nearly five years of outdoor sales necessitated by our library’s construction and COVID restrictions. The June sale took place in the Johnson Community Room and in the Lifelong Learning Room, nearly doubling the space previously available. As happens, there were books left unsold. Many of those books are now available for purchase inside our Scranton Library on the “$1 honor-system” shelves.

We’re grateful to all our volunteers who worked tirelessly to help with receiving and sorting donations, setting up the sale, and staffing it. Without their wonderful assistance, this sale could not have been a success! Our volunteers were amazing.

Our book sales help SLF to provide financial assistance to our Scranton Library. Many who came to shop were afforded an opportunity to visit and discover for the first time our newly renovated and expanded library. SLF is also grateful to the Town of Madison for its support for this and all our endeavors.

Our second and final sale of 2022 will be held in the same location (Scranton Library, 801 Boston Post Rd., Madison) on Friday, Sept. 23 and Saturday, Sept. 24.

Thank you to our wonderful volunteers and to our shoppers. See you in September.
