Record-Breaking Attendance

The Madison Newcomers Club would like to express its heartfelt thanks to everyone who made Touch a Truck a huge success: the people of Madison, the attendees, our sponsors, volunteers, and of course, the trucks. We again had record-breaking attendance (1,600 attendees) and fundraising totaling more than $10,000 to support the Madison Newcomers Club’s Scholarship Fund.

We are thrilled to be awarding scholarships to three civic-minded Daniel Hand High School graduating seniors in May. All of this is made possible because of the generous donations at the event and our sponsors, including our named sponsor, the Rotary Club of Madison and Straightjacket Motorsports. We hope your readers will make their way to our Facebook page and website www.madisonnewcomersct.com to learn more about the businesses that made this possible.

We also cannot forget the stars of the show—the trucks! Seeing Madison Hose Co #1, North Madison Volunteer Fire Co., Madison Police, Ambulances, and Yale New Haven Sky Health’s helicopter and so many other vehicles was an impressive sight.

Madison Newcomers Club has served as a meeting ground for women who are new town residents since 1968. The club aims to help members become acquainted with one another and take an active role in the civics and social welfare of our community. New members are always welcome.

We are so grateful for everyone’s support in making this event happen, and look forward to putting on this fun event next year.
