A Great Children’s BookGiving

A huge thank you goes to the generous Chester community for an amazing response to Chester Rotary’s Great Children’s BookGiving.

In these stressful times, children’s books may not be part of a family’s budget. The BookGiving sought to get the community’s help with that, and Chester certainly came through. More than 2,000 books were donated in response to our request for “outgrown children’s books for ages birth to 7.”

Those books have been bundled into bags of 15 to 20 books either for age group birth to 4 years or 3 years to 7 years, and are now available to families in the community with children ready to love those books again. Books bundles can be picked up at the Chester Food Program on Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Tri-Town Youth Services, or by emailing jantaigen@gmail.com.

Thanks go to Chester Town Hall, Chester Elementary School, Chester Elementary PTO, Valley Regional High School Interact Club, United Church of Chester, Chester Library, and Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek synagogue for their assistance in the book collection, but special thanks go to the many families, and children, who donated outgrown books to be loved again. Thanks to their efforts and their gifts, 100 young families will enjoy many happy hours of story time!
