03/30/2022 08:00 AMIt is a sure sign that spring has arrived when we see cars in the parking lot at the Dairy Queen on Route 1 in Old Saybrook. This spring brings with it a very special reason to celebrate. This year, sisters and co-owners Jenny Striby and Heather Spera are celebrating their 25th anniversary of owning and operating the local landmark. This also marks the 50th year that the franchise has been a part of their family. The girls’ father, Craig Lassen, owned the business for 25 years before he passed away in 1997.
These are remarkable achievements for any business and by any standard of measure. Congratulations go to Jenny, Heather, and their families for reaching these very special milestones and we thank them for bringing smiles to the faces of all of us who share a love for Dairy Queen!
