Time, Effort, and Energy

As chair of the Friends of the Guilford Free Library (FOGFL) recent holiday sale, I want to thank everyone who made it such a successful and joyous event.

The preschoolers from the Guilford Center for Children created colorful decorations for the library’s lobby. The Camerata Singers from Adams School led by Christina Tran braved the cold weather to serenade shoppers with familiar holiday carols and songs. Christine Cohen and Mimi Dudley added to the festive atmosphere with instrumental music. Members of the friends group sorted through tons of books to find items that might make perfect gifts, and the library staff graciously lent its professional expertise. Above all, the members of the entire community came out to support the library with their time, effort, and energy. We could not have done it without them!

The proceeds from this and all of FOGFL’s sales are used to purchase books and equipment, support programs, and fund enrichment for the library staff. I encourage your readers to consider joining FOGFL or donating gently used boos, ephemera, prints, or maps for future sales.
