The Generosity of So Many

Thanksgiving has come and gone, but without the help of so many, more than 350 families within the East Haven community would have gone without a Thanksgiving dinner this year.

The coordination and effort it takes to pull off this feat is nothing short of amazing and would not be possible without the food pantry’s vice president, Christine Sandford. Christine starts the process months in advance to make this annual event so successful and I would like to thank her for all she does for so many in our community. I would also like to thank all the pantry volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Without their commitment to the food pantry, we would not be able to keep up with the ever-growing demand.

Also, I would like to thank the Public Works Department guys for picking up our order at the CT Food Bank along with Mayor Joe Carfora, who assisted in handing out the turkeys and bags of groceries.

I cannot thank enough all who organized and held food drives to benefit the East Haven Food Pantry and everyone who donated the food. Without the generosity of so many in our town, we would not be able to help our neighbors in need. Wishing everyone a very happy, healthy holiday season.
