The Many Who Helped

We would like to thank everyone who participated in and supported Guilford’s 20th annual Lasagna Dinner. Held on Veteran’s Day, the event honors our local veterans with a complimentary meal prepared by the kitchen staff at the Community Center. Families and friends may also order the meals and this year we served more than 260 dinners, with 70 served to veterans.

The event is also a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels and we would like to recognize and thank a few of the many who helped make this dinner a success: Larry Santamaria and his talented kitchen crew, who prepared the dinners; the volunteers who helped pack the dinners in patriotically decorated bags; the students from the Pilgrim Fellowship program who distributed the bags to waiting cars at the drive-through event; State Representative Sean Scanlon (D-98), who delivered meals to the homes of several veterans; Guilford White House Florist, which added a flower to each of the veterans’ bags; the Guilford elementary school students who made generous and heartfelt cards for the veterans; and Guilford Walmart for the donation of water bottles.
