In Recognition of Honorable Service

Nov. 11, 2021, marked the first Veterans Day in 20 years in which the United States was not involved in an active war. Countless generations of new Veterans have been added to the ranks of those who bravely defended our nation. In recognition of our honorable service, we veterans were offered free dinners by the Guilford Senior Center and Meals on Wheels as one way to say thank you for our service.

I thank Guilford Meals on Wheels and APK Charities Corporation for the large, complimentary lasagna dinner including salad, bread and butter, and dessert. I thank the State of Connecticut VFW for the complimentary mask and razor, Guilford White House Florist for a beautiful complimentary rose, and Guilford Walmart for the complimentary bottle of water. I especially thank Guilford elementary school children for several hand-made cards saying thank veterans for their service.

We Americans always have been and always will be in this together. We live and fight and die as “One nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.” I thank our veterans for their sacrifices, and also thank those honorable men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our homeland.
