Have Served Admirably

We are new to Branford. Over the past year, we have been slowly getting to know many of the wonderful people who make up this community. It saddened us to read about the recent defacement of a number of lawn signs of candidates running for municipal office. But what we found most disturbing is the picture of Roberta Gill-Brooks, tax collector for the town, with a red arrow drawn through her head. Was this a random act of vandalism or was it meant to send a more sinister message? We may never know the truth.

What we do know is that Roberta Gill-Brooks and her beloved family, which has deep roots in Branford, have served our community admirably. Our country is going through one of the most difficult periods in our history, including a deadly pandemic that has lead to the death of more than 700,000 Americans as well as serious challenges to abortion and to voting rights. We are divided. We need good government to ensure the rights of everyone.

Let’s be a model to the rest of the country by showing fairness and servility in the election of our municipal candidates.
