Energy, Integrity, and Devotion

I am happy to throw my support behind Maureen Lewis for a seat on the Board of Education. Maureen Lewis and her family have lived in Madison for nearly 20 years and raised their three daughters in the Madison school system. In the nearly 20 years of living in Madison, Maureen Lewis committed to making this town a better place to raise a family.

She has volunteered her time to numerous issues, but here I will speak only of her work in the area of Madison schools. She believes strongly in the importance of education and service. As evidence of her commitment to excellence in public school education and her dedication to service, Maureen Lewis has served as PTO president of Ryerson School, Brown Middle School, and Polson Middle School. She has also chaired the Ryerson School after-school winter enrichment programs and has been a strong advocate for the Madison Public Schools education budget. Maureen Lewis is also the chair of the Parents Representative Council (PRC). The PRC brings together all the PTO organizations to collaborate and communicate with the superintendent of schools the needs and concerns of the community.

In all, Maureen Lewis has nearly two decades of education advocacy work in Madison Public Schools. In the time I have gotten to know Maureen Lewis, I have found her to be kind, reasonable, and ready to hear all different perspectives. Maureen will do her best, focusing on fiscal responsibility while further strengthening our schools in Madison. Most important, I am confident that Maureen Lewis has the energy, integrity, and devotion to make our school system even better. I encourage your readers to give Maureen Lewis their votes on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
