Bring Unique Talents

The foundations of any good government are rooted in an ability to connect with the people. Being able to have frank discussions with people about the issues, irrespective of their political leanings, is crucial at a time where our country seems its most divided in living memory. That’s why I’m happy to endorse both Al Goldberg and Scott Murphy for the Board of Selectmen on the Nov. 2 election.

Both Scott and Al bring their unique talents to local government that shine in how they do their jobs. Al’s 10-plus years of experience on the Board of Selectmen has been thanks to his trustworthiness and ability to work with people on both sides of the aisle—and those are just some of the reasons as to why the people of the town of Madison have continued to re-elect him. His experience on the board will be just as important as ever as Madison faces major decisions to remain competitive in the 2020s.

Scott Murphy is another person with whom I trust my vote with. His approachable demeanor is one that I believe is integral to being a local government official—this is shown in no clearer way than on how he maintains a dialogue on Madison’s community Facebook pages. Whether online or face to face, Scott’s commitment to having an open and transparent conversation with the community is needed to ensure an open and transparent local government.

Scott Murphy and Al Goldberg are two leaders in our town whom I am glad I can count on when it comes to making the right decisions. I encourage my fellow Madisonians to vote for Scott, Al, and the rest of Row A on Tuesday, Nov. 2.
