An Agent of Change

It has been my greatest honor to lead this town these past two years. I ran on a vision of progress and change—I believe I’ve delivered on that pledge while also keeping the town safe during an unprecedented pandemic.

I have been transparent and consistent on my policies and plans and proven I can get things done in government, while listening and leading during a crisis. After many years of gridlock, I’ve put the wheels in motion to get things moving despite bureaucratic obstacles and political stonewalling. This includes tackling many languishing town projects, creating a foundation for a strategic plan, improving management of our beaches, re-organizing departments for efficiencies, and streamlining access to town services.

I’ve also improved government transparency and accountability with frequent, informative communications and by establishing an Ethics Commission—all this while working collaboratively to keep us fiscally sound with no tax increase in 2020, a record rainy day fund, new state funding, and preservation of our premier credit rating.

Now, in a second term, I will continue maintaining our strong value proposition to taxpayers by using our tax dollars responsibly and wisely, and bringing critical issues to a town vote this February, including Academy, the School Renewal Plan, and the sale of Island Avenue. And if partnered with a visionary, experienced team of Democratic candidates on the boards of Finance and Education, imagine what we can accomplish together.

Being an agent of change can be difficult, but good leadership serves everybody by tuning out the noise of a few and staying the course for the many. People know what I stand for and what I’m trying to do. Let’s stay the course toward a vibrant, thriving future by entrusting me with your vote on Nov. 2.
