The Town’s Interests First

They say that “all politics is local,” but that is rapidly changing as federal and state political influences attempt to drastically change the way of life in small towns like Madison. Citizens want to have control over school curriculum and the quality of education, over zoning changes, over mandated low-income housing issues, over how their taxes are being spent and the town assets are being managed.

One positive outcome from COVID has been the huge influx of young families who found that they can work remotely and have chosen Mad-ison as the perfect place to raise their families. In order to protect these quality-of-life decisions, you need a leader like Bruce Wilson who is attuned to pressure from outside sources and has the skill to deal with them, who does not support a town manager form of govern-ment, who does not support floating zoning, who will finish the downtown revitalization, and who will help guide decision-making on the Academy and Island Avenue properties and stop the endless committee reviews and can-kicking we’ve become accustomed to. Bruce will offer his financial, managerial, and business background along with a common-sense approach to running Madison and be available to the town on a responsive and full-time basis.

Noreen Kokoruda, whose record speaks for itself, is a treasure of Madison, putting the town’s interests first, making right decisions for the community, and working across party lines. Education makes up 60 percent of the town’s budget and no one has a better handle on that coordination than Noreen, who with Maryann Connelly, running for Board of Education, will be great for our children.

I have known these fine people for more than 40 years and wholeheartedly endorse their entire ticket. What a fabulous team.
