Taken Great Strides

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have supported me since I began running for town clerk in 2009 and to ask for their support once again on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Since winning my first election in 2009, I have taken great strides to re-invent the office to fit with the changing technological times as well as improving customer service. While improvements to technology are great, I haven’t forgotten the little touches, such as giving out dog treats during the month of June when the majority of dog licensing takes place or having a bowl of candy out on the counter for anyone needing a sweet treat. And when it comes to in office absentee voting, I purchased handicap-accessible voting booths so those completing their ballot can do so in private rather than standing at the counter.

I have made improvements while being cognizant of financial restrictions, always looking for ways to provide services without adding a burden to my budget. I was able to add an online vital record request program while not incurring a cost to my office or the town. I also added a Square terminal in the office so those wishing to pay with a credit card can do so. This feature also doesn’t add any additional fees to my office or the town.

I have thoroughly enjoyed being your readers’ town clerk and would like the opportunity to serve for another two years.
