Responsibly, Effectively, and Efficiently

You know it’s election season when the leaves start to turn, the pumpkin patch returns to First Church, the mums are in bloom, and political lawn signs are everywhere. Driving through town there’s one sign that has me puzzled; specifically, it reads “Build a better future.” I asked myself how much better can Old Saybrook get?

Through Republican leadership, we already enjoy a strong sense of community with town budgets that have been flat, or close to flat, over the last decade; sound investment in capital projects; a great public school system; amazing police, fire, and emergency management teams that made Old Saybrook a leader in the statewide fight against COVID; lots of open space; great support programs through our Youth & Family Service Department; fabulous Park and Rec programs; a proactive Economic Development Office; an active Chamber of Commerce with a culture of supporting entrepreneurship; in particular, women and small businesses; and a booming housing market (with further plans for affordable housing).

I encourage your readers to note Republican on Nov. 2—keep our town running responsibly, effectively, and efficiently!
