Passion, Enthusiasm, and Empathy

I am writing this letter in support of Nancy Giannini for Westbrook town clerk. As I have worked with her over the past several weeks, it is apparent to me that she has the drive and desire to conquer any challenges that she encounters.

People ask if she is qualified for the position. In my 27 years of being a town clerk myself—in Westbrook and in Newington—I can say with certainty that Nancy will devote herself to quickly learning the nuances and methodologies of the office. What cannot be taught and what Nancy brings to the job is passion, enthusiasm, and empathy. She is a problem-solver. She is a consummate volunteer on many fronts. She goes above and beyond when trying to help people. She looks for solutions, not dead ends.

Nancy is eager to become certified in this profession and when elected she will enroll in the certification program sponsored by the Connecticut Town Clerks Association. Participation in this program is not permissible until a town clerk has taken office.

Nancy has pledged to be on the job during all Town Hall hours of operation. She is a team player with creative energy who will elevate morale. She knows that some functions of the office (elections, town meetings, historical reserach) require additional hours and she gladly accepts the responsibility.

Nancy will provide Westbrook residents with easy, friendly access to the town clerk. When your readers elect Nancy, it means she works for them. It is that simple. It is the reason I fully support her, and I hope that your readers will, too. I encourage your readers to vote for Nancy Giannini on Nov. 2!
