Make the Best Decisions

I am impressed with Tom Brockett as a candidate for first selectman for many reasons—but especially for his willingness to seek out and listen to new information.

I first met Tom at an Issues Committee meeting for the Democratic Town Committee. At the time, I also served as president of the Advisory Board for the Branford Counseling Center. At our meeting, Tom questioned the amount of town funding for the center, given the large donation fund. I referred Tom to Peter Cimino, the director of the center, and Tom agreed to meet with him soon. Later, Tom told me that he was appreciative of the chance to talk to the director and to learn about the important services that the Branford Counseling Center provides for its clients. He said meetings like this help him to make informed decisions as a member of the RTM.

In this time of rampant misinformation, it is important that our leaders are proactive in thoroughly researching the issues. Based on my experience, I am confident that, as first selectman, Tom Brockett will take the time to consult with stake holders, analyze the data, and make the best decisions for the people of Branford.

I look forward to voting for Tom Brockett and Ray Dunbar on Nov. 2.
