Honest and Dedicated Service

I am writing in support of Alfred “Chub” Wilcox for the Old Saybrook Police Commission. Chub Wilcox was a successful lawyer in Philadelphia for 40 years and, though retired, he wants to use his considerable knowledge and skills to be helpful and contribute to the town’s betterment.

Recently there have been more than a few embarrassing events in town and online, and he has exposed a heavy-handed approach to policing that must be addressed. He has raised and fought for these important issues, but the majority has shut him down every time. We are fortunate to have such a qualified individual willing to serve our community. He believes that the best solutions come from a collaborative approach where everyone works toward the best outcome, but the current commission is not getting the job done. He believes we can do better!

I am a retired physician who had a practice based in Essex for more than 30 years, so I know Old Saybrook and its residents well. I believe Chub Wilcox will continue to offer honest and dedicated service to our community. Chub Wilcox is of the highest moral character and I endorse him, without reservation, to continue to serve on the Old Saybrook Police Commission.

I encourage your readers to come out and vote for the entire Democratic team this fall. After all, there’s a lot of work to be done and it will take a strong team and a majority to get it done.
