Has the Know-How

As Westbrook voters consider the prospect of electing a clean slate for Board of Selectman this November, we must take measure of the past and embrace a new vision for our town. Our town needs farsighted leadership to better align on-the-ground realities with contemporary ideas and solutions to guide government decision-making and spend our taxpayer dollars more wisely. We cannot afford the status quo and risk another lost decade with paralyzing austerity policies.

In a small town, qualified Board of Selectman candidates are hard to find. Vince Gentile is running for Board of Selectmen with bona fide qualifications to take our town to the next level. A small business owner at the start of his career, Vince has expertly served in the information technology (IT) field working with small IT consulting firms to Fortune 500 companies for more than 20 years. This expertise will be invaluable to solving the functional, technical, and infrastructure challenges Westbrook will face in the coming years.

A civic-minded person, Gentile is very attentive to the details and focuses on the big picture and the long game. He has served on the Westbrook Zoning Commission, the Pension and Retirement Board, and Westbrook’s Fire Department for 16 years. Vince Gentile will get my vote because he is prioritizing the revitalization of our Town Center. For more than a decade, residents have clamored for the infrastructure needed to support a vibrant business community in our downtown area that will enable us to compete with other towns. This once-in-a lifetime opportunity is here now with funds from the American Rescue Plan.

Vince Gentile has the know-how and the skill set to tackle these issues head-on from smart economic development to other sorely needed improvements. I encourage your readers to vote for Vince Gentile on Nov. 2.
