Creating Win-Win Outcomes

Few Old Saybrook residents are as dedicated to Old Saybrook, its residents, and its visitors as Zoning Commission candidate Laura Parker Gray. In all that she does, Laura seeks to honor Old Saybrook’s unique past, vibrant present, and sustainable future, essential qualities for a zoning commissioner.

Thousands know Laura as the founder of the popular Historic Old Saybrook and Saybrook Colony Gardens Facebook communities, where Laura invites everyone to share their enthusiasm and love for our town’s rich history and beauty. Laura currently serves on the Historic District Commission. Her passion for architectural and environmental matters will enhance her business-savvy contributions to the zoning board. Laura’s home in North Cove with husband Dave is itself a wonderful example of ongoing historic preservation and sustainable native gardening.

With a chemistry degree from UConn, Laura has built a successful 33-year career in biomedical equipment sales and business development. She brings a depth and breadth of knowledge, keen analytical skills, and a concern for the welfare of others to everything she does. Laura’s priorities as a member of the Zoning Commission are to preserve the historic integrity of Old Saybrook and our small-town charm; to help the town meet the bipartisan goal of increasing the number of affordable housing units in town, as required by law; and to attract younger residents to Old Saybrook, which will increase Old Saybrook’s financial and intergenerational sustainability in the years ahead.

Laura connects easily and enthusiastically with individuals from across the political spectrum. She has a sincere interest in other people’s experiences and opinions, a gift for listening to and supporting others, and a knack for creating win-win outcomes. I hope your readers will join me in voting for the remarkable and talented Laura Gray on Nov. 2.
