Committed to the Hard Work

As a resident of Branford and the chief science officer of a Branford bioscience company, I feel strongly that we need to attract new business to the town and retain and grow the existing businesses in order to create high-paying jobs, appeal to new homeowners, and increase revenue to the town.

The bioscience industry in Connecticut is thriving, and Branford represents a great opportunity for biotech due to the availability of municipal services and its proximity to New Haven. However much more needs to be done to strengthen the partnership with the local companies and increase the availability of quality laboratory space in the town to draw new companies. I believe that Tom Brockett and Ray Dunbar are committed to the hard work of business development.

I have met with them on multiple occasions, and they are driven to understanding the needs of the bioscience community and improving communication and transparency with the town. They have proposed to hire a full time economic development director to identify opportunities to recruit new businesses and new investment opportunities and facilitate the expansion of the existing companies. They are both strong advocates for Branford and effective problem solvers.

This is just what is needed if we are to continue to make Branford better for all. I look forward to voting for Tom and Ray on Nov. 2.
