A Vigorous Advocate

I have had the distinct pleasure of serving as a Democratic RTM member with Tom Brockett for the Town of Branford. Tom is not only a vigorous advocate for the best interests of the district he represents, Tom has been extraordinary in his role as the Democratic party leader for Branford.

Extraordinary is not too strong to describe Tom’s leadership qualities. Tom has coalesced his members around a cohesive platform of ideas and proposals that he is now seeking to implement for the town as our next first selectman. Recognizing how short-sighted and unique it is for a town such as Branford to continue to operate without an economic development director, Tom has made clear one of his first priorities will be to begin the vetting process to hire a capable individual to perform in that role. Tom has made clear as the first selectman he will no longer stand for the taxpayers of the town to fund six-figure salaries year after year for positions that are not filled with any individuals. Tom’s ideas for instituting shuttle service and improving our town’s roads and sidewalks will all improve the quality of life for all of our residents.

In my four years of service on the RTM, I have worked with town officials and members on both sides of the aisle. I can unequivocally state that Tom Brockett has a great depth of knowledge concerning the Town of Branford. I strongly support Tom Brockett for first selectman and encourage all citizens regardless of party affiliation to vote for Tom on Nov. 2 to make Branford better.
