I’m voting for Dr. Jay S. Mandell, the Democratic candidate for the open alternate position on Clinton’s Planning & Zoning Commission (PZC).

Jay is a longtime Clinton resident who knows our town and the changes we’ve experienced since he moved here in 1984, but he’s new to PZC, and already he’s brought the fresh perspective of a customer to our discussions. He’s been through the process of obtaining approvals and complying with extensive requirements when he built his new home in 2007. He’s committed to fairness and transparency in the zoning process, to enhancing our downtown area, and to strengthening our tax base.

Jay grew up near Hartford and is a lifelong Connecticut resident. He graduated from UConn and from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Now retired, he practiced dentistry for more than 40 years, and taught at the UConn School of Dentistry in Farmington.

I encourage all Clinton voters to join me in supporting Jay. Together, we’ll work to make Clinton a more attractive place to visit, to work, but most of all, to live.
