A Scare Tactic

Critical Race theory (CRT) is not a course or a subject that is going to be taught in Guilford schools, period. While I personally agree with many of the practices of CRT, it has become a scare tactic and catch phrase to make people believe that their own personal histories are being threatened. I encourage your readers not to let the Board of Education Row B limit their children’s education. This is a crucial time for them to learn and grow.

My son was born in Oakland, California. It was such a thrill to watch him learn his first words in both Spanish and English. Unfortunately, when we moved to Connecticut, his teachers were not allowed to speak to him in Spanish even though I requested that his one teacher speak to him in English and his other in Spanish (her native language). Can you imagine the advantage he would have in life and the workforce had he been able to learn conversational Spanish from the time he was two?

Our children need every tool and opportunity to give them advantages to live in a world outside of our very beautiful town that is severely lacking in diversity. I encourage your readers to vote rows A and C for our children!
