Support Our Library

The Scranton Library Friends held four successful book sales this summer in the tent on the library grounds. Thanks go to all who donated books, to those who bought books, and especially to the volunteers who sorted books for months, set up the sales, and cleaned up after the sales. Money raised by the book sales is given to the library to finance programs for all ages.

Co-chaired by Laurie Gerard and Barbara Buckley, a group of 57 volunteers gave a great deal of time and energy to make these sales a success.

Our book sale volunteers were John Andrews, Judy Andrews, Liz Attebery, Mary Ann Benham, Meg Berlin, Carol Bostrom, Carol Boynton, Marsha Brunelle, Gayle Buckawick, Marta Carbone, Barb Carney, Paula Chabot, Pat Chmieleski, Colleen Cummings, Doris DeWees, Joan Filbey, Marianne Frost, Bob Gerard, Susannah Graedel, Angela Guarascio, Caroline Guenther, Deb and Mark Halvorsen, Jim Harris, Pam Hayden, Roberta Isleib, Amy Jamison, Vicki Littell, Sandy Long, Matt Lubanko, Carolyn Martinelli, Rachel McNellis, Joan and Filmore McPherson, Arline Morrissey, Ingrid Oris, Mary Quimet, Jean Pfeifer, Betsey and Harry Piner, Agnes Rath, Carol Robinson, Hank Robinson, Marie Rohland, Denise Rose, Joyce and Jerry Rourke, Carmela Scialabba, Julie Sullivan, Jen Thompson, Diane Vanacore, Eleanor Watt, Liz and Walter Welsh, and Nicole Wiles.

Again, many thanks go to our workers, to the people who donated books, and to all who bought books from the great variety of books available at the sales. These sales are a great bargain for book lovers, and an excellent way to support our library.
