High Ethics and Qualifications

The purpose of this letter is to continue to support and endorse the candidacy of Laurie Jaffe for a town position on the Clinton Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) in the Nov. 2 election. Laurie has served this position since being appointed in November 2019 as an alternate, and then in July 2020 as a full time member.

I supported her candidacy in 2019 due to her high ethics and qualifications. Laurie is a retired Illinois attorney whose former legal practice involved review and analysis of administrative records. Those skills are directly transferable to the decisions Laurie has made and will make as a ZBA member. In the past, Laurie has consistently upheld the Connecticut Coastal Management Act. She realizes that economic development is very important to our town, but must be done in accordance with Clinton’s town ordinances and in a manner that protects the environment.

Laurie will continue to raise important issues and fairly evaluate each application. She will diligently make sure that Clinton’s zoning regulations are fairly enforced. It is for these reasons that I will be voting for Laurie Jaffe for ZBA on Nov. 2 and hope your readers will also give her their consideration and support.
